Taylor Swift graces the cover of the July issue of Marie Claire magazine, where she discusses her rise to fame as well as her plans for the future.

Swift has entertained from the start. At age three, she would stop strangers on the beach to sing numbers from Disney’s The Lion King. Even at such a young age, Swift knew that music was exactly what she wanted to do with her life.

“I knew that everything I wanted to happen could happen in Nashville. So, it became my No. 1 goal to get there somehow,” Swift told the magazine.

Once she succeeded in getting to Nashville, her achievements continued to build. Grammy Awards, CMA’s Entertainer of the Year Award, the Taylor Swift clothing line and a sold-out tour are only a few of her accomplishments thus far.

“I love having a goal, feeling like I’m on a mission,” Swift said. “I love trying to beat what I’ve done so far.”

Swift has also become a leader in technological advancements in music and improving her career by demonstrating a work ethic that is far more mature than her 20 years.

“I think about my next move 10 steps ahead,” Swift said. “I’m always planning three award shows ahead. For me, planning is a productive way of stressing out about your life.”
