Taylor's Back on Top and on TV

1/10/2008 Stephen L. Betts Taylor Swift's self-titled debut disc is back on top of Billboard's country album sales chart this week. The CD also climbs to No. 5 on the multi-genre Billboard 200 album chart. Logging nine weeks at No. 1 on the country chart, Taylor’s CD has sold more than two million copies and spent more weeks at the top of the country chart last year than any other release. In addition, Taylor’s third single, “Our Song,” is in its fifth consecutive week at the top of both Billboard's country singles chart and the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart, making Taylor one of only 12 female artists who have spent five weeks or more at No. 1 since Billboard began tracking country singles in 1944. She joins the elite company of such artists as Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Shania Twain, Dolly Parton, and Patsy Cline. Next week Taylor will make her second appearance on NBC’s Tonight Show (1/15), and on Jan. 17 she’ll guest on the The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
