Country duo Sugarland is back in the studio working on their new album, The Incredible Machine, but fans can expect this album to push Country Music boundaries and explore the pop world.

According to Great American Country, Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland are trying to find new ways to play with Nettles’ voice. The duo isn't turning its back on Country Music, but also thinks the new album will connect with pop fans.

“I’m biased, but arguably I’m working with what I consider the best singer in the world, for pop music,” Bush told The Riverside Press-Enterprise, according to GAC. “She is so, in many ways, undiscovered for how much she has to offer, and we explored that on this record. And what it did is it challenged me as her partner, and as a musician and a producer, to make the music as emotional as she is able to make a lyric.”

Sugarland plans to showcase some of the new music on their Incredible Machine Tour, which began Friday in Primm, Nev. The duo will also make summer appearances in Sarah McLachlain’s Lilith Fair tour lineup.
