Multi-talented Steve Wariner has been nominated for a Nashville Music Award in the Instrumentalist of the Year category.  Other nominees in the group are Bela Fleck, Edgar Meyer, Jeff Taylor and Jack White.

"It's awesome to be nominated with such a great group of other players that I admire so much," said Wariner, who won a Nashville Music Award for Instrumental Album of the Year in 1997 for No More Mr. Nice Guy.

The Nashville Music Awards have been revived this year in a partnership between Next Big Nashville and Leadership Music, Inc.  Originally produced by Leadership Music and presented from 1995-2000, the awards recognize excellence in all genres of music.

The public is invited to vote for the Nashville Music Awards by visiting www.nashvillemusicawards.com.  Online balloting continues until September 30.
Winners will be announced at a reception at the Cannery Ballroom on October 7, the first night of Next Big Nashville.
