2/4/2008 Melissa Coker Steve Azar has received a "Special Citation of Achievement" by BMI in recognition of two million broadcast plays of his single "I Don’t Have To Be Me (‘Til Monday)" from the 2001 album Waitin’ On Joe. Co-written by Steve, it made it to No. 2 on Billboard’s country music singles charts and stayed there for the third longest period of time in Billboard history. Steve’s now working on a new album with Grammy nominated producer Justin Neibank (Vince Gill, LeAnn Rimes, Blues Traveler). Plus, he’s set to soon widely release the album Indianola, currently only available at Steve’s shows and select websites. Both projects are expected this year.
