Stars Pay Tribute to Opry's Gospel Roots

Betts Alan Jackson, Carrie Underwood, Sara Evans, Vince Gill, Dierks Bentley, and Charlie Daniels are among the artists on the new album How Great Thou Art: Gospel Favorites Live from the Grand Ole Opry. The new CD will showcase the gospel music that’s performed regularly at the Grand Ole Opry. The collection features 12 gospel songs recorded live at the Opry. Carrie chose to sing “How Great Thou Art” because she wanted to do a song that has stood the test of time and has touched people's hearts. Sara Evans says the recording was a natural for her because, “I grew up singing gospel tunes right out of the hymnal at church.” She points out that gospel music has always played a large part in the music performed at the Grand Ole Opry.
