Jessica Simpson worked hard to overcome the long road back to regaining her confidence after a tough time with a divorce and a botched performance that left her in tears. Her first Country album, Do You Know, came a step closer to reality, though, as the album artwork was released on Simpson’s Web site last week. The cover features her sitting in a white dress and brown cowboy boots on a park bench with the title across the middle.

In 2006, Simpson endured a much publicized divorce from Nick Lachey and was unable to finish a song during a Kennedy Center Honors performance for Dolly Parton. Her confidence was incredibly low, and she told The Tennessean how difficult it was to get into the studio again. She also discussed her desire to make a Country album previously, but was always turned down by her record company. With Do You Know, Simpson finally was able to make an album in which she finds herself within the songs.

“It’s a spiritual thing for me, like ‘I know God has a plan and a purpose,’” she said in The Tennessean. “For the first time in my life, I take a lot of pride in my talent and in the record I was able to put together. With the writers, I felt comfortable opening up, because the only way this opportunity was going to be a great one was to be honest with myself and with them. If I want to be singing it for the rest of my life onstage, I want it to be honest.”
