"A lot of people didn't want to like it, but when they heard it, regardless of pre-conceived notions, they realized this is a really good record," said Jimmy Rector, VP of promotion at Simpson's Columbia Nashville label. Her untitled album, which is a follow-up to her 2006 album, “A Public Affair,” is due out in September. "I did a lot in the pop world and I had a great time doing it, but this just feels so much easier," Simpson said.
