12/21/2007 Stephen L. Betts Shooter Jennings is kicking 2008 off with some high-profile network television appearances, including a two-song performance on the CBS hit CSI: Crime Scene Investigation on Jan. 10 (9 p.m. ET). “It's awesome for my music to be recognized and chosen by these music supervisors, who I'm sure had their pick of any country artist in Nashville,” says Shooter. “We had a blast during the taping, and this is a great avenue to get songs like 'This Ol Wheel' and 'Higher,' which are crowd favorites, heard by the masses.” Shooter is also set to help usher in the Late Show with David Letterman, which has been on hiatus during the ongoing Writers Guild strike, back into production on Jan. 2, with a performance of “This Ol’ Wheel.” A profile in the New York Times and a performance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno will follow later in the month. On Nov. 28, Shooter and longtime girlfriend actress Drea de Matteo welcomed their first child, daughter Alabama Gypsy Rose.
