Shania Twain Steps Back Into Spotlight

Country Music superstar Shania Twain surprised viewers and attendees this past Wednesday at the 42nd CMA Awards, taking the stage in the final hour to present the last award of the night, Entertainer of the Year, to Kenny Chesney.Chesney took a moment to tell Twain, "You look really good tonight." The rumors of flirtatious backstage banter between the two stars have since made headlines.The singer has not attended the award show since 2004 and received a standing ovation. "It's good to see all of you too," she said upon taking the Sommet Center stage. "I hope to be seeing a lot more of you.""I just hate the fact that she went through her trials and tribulations, and I hope that she comes back as strong as ever. If she puts her mind to it, you ain't going to stop her." John Michael Montgomery told People magazine.Twain recently split from her producer/songwriter husband, Robert "Mutt" Lange in May. Reports are she is busy writing songs and preparing a comeback. Her last album of new music, Up!, was released in 2002; a greatest hits was released in 2004.
