2/14/2008 Stephen L. Betts   Sara Evans was celebrating her birthday on Feb. 5, while at the same time others in the South were bracing themselves for the tornadoes and severe weather which killed nearly 60 people in Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Arkansas and Mississippi. A member of the American Red Cross National Celebrity Cabinet, Sara has launched an online auction with proceeds designated for the Red Cross Relief Fund. Up for auction are the top and dress Sara wore in her “As IF” video. The auction, which runs through Feb. 19, is accessible by logging on to her website, www.saraevans.com. “I am so honored to be a part of the National Celebrity Cabinet,” Sara says. “The American Red Cross sustains victims during disasters and has supported countless families through the recent tornadoes that devastated Tennessee and surrounding states. We are still seeing the devastation nightly on the news, and I encourage everyone to support their efforts not just now, but all year long.” In addition to launching the auction, Sara has taped a series of promotional advertisements encouraging people to donate to the Red Cross. She also recorded a message about steps that can be taken to prepare for disasters.
