Rodney Crowell Nabs Surprise Grammy Nod
Keywords:
You may not have heard about Rodney Crowell's 2008 album Sex and Gasoline, but the critics sure have. Crowell's latest release has been nominated for a Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk/Americana Album. He will be up against Robert Plant and Alison Krauss' Raising Sand, Emmylou Harris' All I Intended to Be, Ry Cooder's I Flathead and Joan Baez' Day After Tomorrow. In spite of the somewhat surprising nomination, Crowell is not too confident about his chances."I think people betting money would bet on Robert Plant and Alison," he said about the Feb. 8 event. "I have no illusions about that."
