Rodney Atkins Welcomes George W. Bush Home
Country Music superstar Rodey Atkins welcomed former President George W. Bush home to Midland, Texas, on Tuesday. The singer performed at the official “Welcome Home” party for the country’s 43rd President."It's such an honor to get to be part of this event," stated Atkins. "I have so much respect for President and Mrs. Bush. My family and I are grateful for their service and proud to be here in Texas to welcome them home."Atkins performed songs from his next album, due out this March, including his latest single, "It's America.” Other performers at the rally included Lee Greenwood and The Gatlin Brothers.Atkins has a history with the former President; as spokesman for the National Adoption Council, it took Atkins to the White House in 2007 as an advocate for adopted children and their families.
