Country artist Rockie Lynne received the ‘Iron Mike’ award from the Army at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. The award is given to those who show an intense commitment to the Armed Forces. Lynne was a member of the United States Army and served at Fort Bragg for six years.

This was Lynne’s first visit back to the base since leaving the Army in 1991. He served in the 82nd Airborne from 1985-1991. He’s currently working on a project for Robbins Nashville, a Song BMG label. Lynne views receiving the award as one of the highest honors he’s ever been given.

“I try to do as much as I can for our troops but this show was especially meaningful for me because of my personal connection to Fort Bragg,” said Lynne in a statement. “Receiving the ‘Iron Mike’ award is an honor beyond comprehension. I was stunned when Colonel David Fox walked on the stage and handed it to me.”
