Robert Earl Keen's Latest Release Tops Americana Charts
Keywords:
Robert Earl Keen's album "The Rose Hotel" reached the top spot on the AMA Americana Radio Airplay chart Monday. His first studio album in four years, Keen has been supporting the album with an appearance on Imus in the Morning and an acoustic tour with Todd Snider and Bruce Robinson. He will continue touring with his band through this year and 2010.
Included on the 11 song album is a cover of Townes Van Zandt's "Flying Shoes," Greg Brown's "Laughing River," and an homage to Levon Helm called "The Man Behind The Drums."
The USA Today says that, while tunesmiths are plentiful in Texas, "Americana veteran Robert Earl Keen is one of the best."
Blurt On Line gives "The Rose Hotel" an 8-out-of-10, and they say the album is "one of those rare albums where every track can be recommended and the entire experience is superb."
Keen will continue touring from Indiana through Colorado. Here is a list of tour dates through January 2010.
