Marty Robbins' Exhibit to Open at Hall of Fame

Betts The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and GAC (Great American Country) are partnering to offer the exhibit "Marty Robbins: Among My Souvenirs," which will be on display at the museum from Aug. 3 to June 2008.  "Like the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Great American Country has demonstrated a commitment to entertaining and educating a broad spectrum of country music fans," Kyle Young, museum director, said in announcing the partnership. "From its exclusive television broadcasts of the Grand Ole Opry, to original programs like Master Series, which is taped here at the museum, GAC consistently delivers engaging and insightful entertainment to its viewers. Partnering with GAC for the Marty Robbins exhibition is a perfect fit." Marty Robbins is one of the most successful country artists of all time, and was also an avid race car driver. His 1959 hit, "El Paso" was No. 1 on both the country and pop charts. He died in 1982, just weeks after being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
