Rick Huckaby Named "Small Label Breakthrough Artist of the Year"

Rick Huckaby and Jon Freeman of Music Row Magazine Rick Huckaby and Jon Freeman of Music Row Magazine, photo by Alan Mayor Singer-songwriter, Rick Huckaby was awarded “Small Label Breakthrough Artist of the Year,” by MusicRow Magazine last week at the 7th Annual Country Breakout Airplay Awards.  At the event, Huckaby said, “The label and I have worked really hard over these last two years to get my music out to the fans and industry.  Being on an indie label, I felt we had to work even harder to get charted and it was really cool to see a new bullet each week.”  Huckaby has already had two singles from his debut album, Call Me Huck, which scored him the award and he will release another single on March 17 titled, “She Gets Me High.”  As Huckaby is gaining success from his own singing career, he is also having success with songs he has written for other artists such as Craig Morgan, as well as co-writing “Muddy Water,” for Trace Adkins.
