Richie McDonald Releases Christian Album

4/10/2008 Lisa Ann Schleipfer Richie McDonald, former front-man for Country Music group Lonestar, is releasing a new album this summer, with a contemporary Christian take.  I Turn to You, set to be in stores June 3, was created with McDonald’s friend and co-writer Frank Myers. McDonald is set to promote the new songs on a special edition of the Grand Ole Opry April 22, as part of Gospel Music week, a seven-day celebration prior to the Dove awards. McDonald told AOL Music, "It was something I had wanted to do but it just never seemed the right time. I've always said I want to make a difference with my music and I feel like this is the music that can make a difference, maybe hopefully change someone's life." The album seems to go hand-in-hand with the philanthropic McDonald, who participated in the Feed the Children food drop this week in Nashville, as part of the Celebration 2008.
