5/7/2008 Kasey Bell Country Music singer John Rich will be a judge on the upcoming season of Nashville Star, but he already has some advice for the judges on American Idol. At a press conference Friday in Los Angeles, John Rich spoke out against the judges on American Idol, especially Paula Abdul.  Abdul is under scrutiny for making comments about one contestant’s performance that related to the previous day’s rehearsal. “They’re not doing it real,” John Rich said.  “When you can’t make a cognizant comment about someone’s performance and you’re commenting on something that happened the day before, why don’t you just walk up onstage and slap them right across the face while you’re at it?” John, who will be co-judging Country Music hopefuls along with Jewel and singer-songwriter Jeffrey Steele, said that actions like that are inconsiderate of everyone involved. “That is just absolutely disrespect to the artist, to the music, and don’t forget the fans, which is the only reason we even have these shows in the first place,” Rich said.  “Don’t try to con them.”   Source: Tennessean.com
