Reba Says Kelly Clarkson Duet Touches Her Heart

Betts Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson are about to score a Top 10 country single with their duet, “Because of You.” Dial-Global reports that while in Nashville yesterday to promote her upcoming Reba Duets album, Reba admitted the song wasn't their original pick for the project. “The first time I sang it with her touched my heart in a way I haven't had a song touch my heart in a long time,” says Reba. “Narvel [Reba's husband] saw it. That wasn't one of the songs we had talked about recording … Kelly and I had already recorded a song, ‘A Lot Like You,’ for the duet project, and he said, ‘You've got to do this one together,’ so we did.” Of the song’s impact on the country audience, Reba says, “I'm not really surprised that it's a huge success, because it was a huge success as a single for her in the pop world." Reba Duets is set for release Sept. 18.
