Ralph Stanley, Elton John to Perform at Neil Young’s Annual Bridge School Benefit

There’s simply nothing better than a little bit of Country and a little bit of rock-n-roll. For one night, Oct. 24, at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, Calif., that is exactly what will be happening. An astonishing collaboration is being assembled by producer T Bone Burnett, which includes legendary Bluegrass player Ralph Stanley (famous for the vocals on the Grammy-winning song “O Death” on T Bone’s O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack), Elton John and Leon Russell on keyboard, seasoned rock-n-roller Elvis Costello, Americana artist Neko Case and actor Jeff Bridges. This show will take place on the second day of Neil Young’s annual Bridge School Benefit on T Bone Burnett’s Speaking Clock Revue stage.

 

Mash-ups are not uncommon in the new day of Country artists. The artists are coming in full swing and presenting themselves as a force to be reckoned with. T Bone’s musicians are meant to reflect the other rock-and-country mixers at the weekend-event as well. Several other once-in-a-lifetime acts for the benefit are Buffalo Springfield, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Lucinda Williams, Jackson Browne and Billy Idol. On the contrary, other rock bands will be appearing as well, including Pearl Jam and Modset Mouse.
