Country legend Ralph Stanley is known for his involvement in Country Music for the past 70 years. He has been a part of the band Clinch Mountain Boys with Keith Whitley and Ricky Skaggs, won a Grammy in 2002 for Best Male Country Performance for his song, "O Death," and helped with production of "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"

After a successful career, Stanley is writing an autobiography that it set to be sold in stores on Oct. 15.  According to CMT, in the book Stanley says Tim McGraw, who was also in the running for Best Male Country Performance in 2002, was disrespectful to him after he won. They went on to say that in the book, Stanley says, "He [Tim] wouldn't know a real Country song if it kicked him in the ass."

Today, CMT.com updated the story, reporting that Gotham Books, publisher for Stanley's autobiography, said the criticism has been removed from the book.
