Some artists got lucky this weekend at CMA Music Fest and made it through the off-and-on storms in Nashville, but Jimmy Wayne was not one of them. Although he was scheduled to perform at LP Field on Thursday night, heavy storms kept him off the stage. After waiting several hours in the rain-soaked stadium until midnight, Jimmy was forced to leave in order to make a flight to Boston, where he would perform with Brad Paisley.
"To say I am disappointed is an understatement," Wayne said. "I was excited to get to perform for this many fans, and grateful to the CMA that I had this opportunity. But I knew I'd never get to that flight on time if I didn't agree with my managers that it was time to give up. I even offered to take my guitar down to where the fans were waiting for the rain to stop and play for them there, but unfortunately the fire marshal didn't think that was such a good idea. I'll be thinking about the fans in Nashville while I'm out here on the road."
