Two publications from the Country Music world are ceasing production this month: Performing Songwriter and Radio & Records.

Performing Songwriter, in print for the past 16 years, will run its final issue this month. Publisher Lydia Hutchinson told the Nashville Business Journal that it was time to end the publication, saying, "We know there's a train coming in the form of an uncertain economy. By ceasing publication now we know the magazine will never risk losing its integrity and or its quality."

Radio & Records, which closes its doors this Friday, has been in the business for 36 years. Its closure will mean job loss for 40 employees, with officials citing economic issues as the reason for the shutdown.
