Previously Unreleased Hank Sr. Recordings Coming

5/27/2008 Patricia Montesinos Hank Williams Sr Country Music legend Hank Williams Sr. will be making a series of encore performances over the next three years, CMT news reports. Williams and his band pre-recorded 72 “Mother’s Best” programs for Country Music radio station WSM-AM Nashville in 1951.  The shows were recorded while the band was on tour and include 143 recordings that never made the airwaves.  When Williams died, the records were thrown away, but later saved by a WSM employee After eight years of legal battles, the Williams family was awarded sole ownership of the records, which will be released in the fall through Time Life.  According to CMT, the records include 40 songs Hank Williams, Sr. was never known to perform and some that he never recorded commercially. "Everyone will get to know the man and his musical genius as never before," said daughter Jett Williams.  “These recordings were my vehicle to get to really know the father I never met."  Jett Williams was born five days after Hank Williams died.
