4/21/2008 Lisa Ann Schleipfer Country Music entertainer Kenny Chesney opened his Poets and Pirates tour to sold-out crowds in Uncasville, Conn. this past weekend. On both Friday and Saturday nights at the Mohegan Sun’s arena, fans were treated to more than 100 minutes of Chesney’s performance. "Man, it felt great to be back on stage—and what a great audience to kick this tour off with," said Chesney in a press release Monday. "I always say whatever we give them, the audience gives it back harder… And they did last night. They made me glad to be getting back on the road, singing for the fans again because there is nothing in the world like the people who love our music." The opening shows offered up classic hits from the Country Music star’s repertoire, and not-yet released singles from his latest effort, Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates. Chesney, known for his laid-back attitude and generosity, continued his tradition of signing a guitar during his encore and finding a young fan to receive the instrument. "To me, it is so much about how we share music… the fans and I… and I secretly hope that one day, one or two of these kids are gonna grow up and have record deals. That this moment might spark that in them." Chesney said. The Poets and Pirates tour continues this Saturday in Columbia, SC and then heads out west to Texas and Oklahoma next month.  For complete tour information visit http://www.kennychesney.com.
