John Rich Calls on Friends for Benefit

Betts Five years after a tragic fire in a Rhode Island nightclub, John Rich will join fellow country artists Gretchen Wilson, Dierks Bentley, Randy Owen, and Kellie Pickler for Phoenix Rising!, a benefit for the victim’s families, slated for Feb. 25 at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, RI. The fire, caused by pyrotechnics on stage at the Station nightclub in West Warwick on Feb. 20, 2003, killed 100 people and injured more than 200 others. John, who helped gather the event’s country-music contingent, says, “No matter what music you play or listen to, we are all one family, and we need to help each other out, especially in time of need." The show will also feature hard-rock acts Twisted Sister, Stryper, Tesla, members of the classic rock group Boston, and pop acts Chicago and Mr. Big.
