In 2001, singer/songwriter Patty Loveless gave fans of root music the Appalachian sound of Mountain Soul, and this fall she will follow up with Mountain Soul II.

Loveless said the second album, due out Sept. 29, is a bluegrass/Country continuation of the first. "It's Appalachian, bluegrass and Country combined. You should never try to duplicate something like Mountain Soul. What you should do is enhance. So this is like a continuation."

The inspiration for the album came from the fans. Loveless said she met a lot of followers that were not mainstream Country music fans. "They'd say, 'When are you going to do another record like this? We love this album.' I guess they kind of talked me into it."

Mountain Soul II is being issued by Saguaro Road Records and was produced by Loveless' husband, Emory Gordy Jr. The collaboration for the album includes a great list of music talent, including Del and Ronnie McCoury, Vince Gill, Carl Jackson, Bryan Sutton, Mike Auldridge, Emmylou Harris, steel guitarist Al Perkins, Deanie Richardson, Dobro player Rob Ickes, singer Jon Randall and vocalist Rebecca Lynn Howard.
