Pam Tillis Works To Preserve Wheeling Jamboree Radio Program

Country Music star Pam Tillis and Nashville-based artist manager Matt Spicher are the newest additions to the Board of Directors of the Wheeling Jamboree, Inc.The board is a non-profit corporation that preserves The Wheeling Jamboree, the nation’s second oldest radio and live performance program. Wheeling, W. Va., station WKKX-AM 1600 and nine other stations currently broadcast the program.
“Radio shows like the Jamboree are an endangered species,” Tillis said in a statement. “They only survive if artists are passionate about their importance on the musical landscape.”
The Grammy Award winner will replace retiring founding director Doug Paisley, father of Country Music superstar Brad Paisley.
Spicher, who has worked with various Country Music artists in the past 20 years, including Tillis, will replace retiring board member Brian Long.
The Wheeling Jamboree 77th Anniversary program will take place on April 3 at Wheeling’s Capitol Theatre.
