AOL's The Boot has named the Oak Ridge Boys' “Elvira” as the No. 1 Catchy Song in Country, putting it ahead of an impressive list of hits.

“When I opened up my AOL account, one of the headline stories for the day was about the 10 catchiest songs in Country Music history; I followed the link and started to read the top 10. I started at 10 and wondered what would be next as I scrolled down the page. I was thinking that we would not have a song on there, and then at No. 1 was our huge hit 'Elvira.' You could hear me screaming all the way from Oklahoma. Thanks to Dallas Frazier for writing such a song that bought us all a new house, and a new car,” Oak Ridge Boys lead singer Duane Allen said.

The Oak Ridge Boys topped the charts with "Elvira" and its catch verse, "Elvira, Elvira/My Heart's on fire, Elvira/Giddy up, oom-poppa-oom-poppa-mow-mow.”

Aside from having the honor of the catchiest Country song, the Oak Ridge Boys' four-part harmonies have earned them Grammy, Dove, CMA and ACM Awards and garnered the group a host of other industry and fan accolades.

The Oak Ridge Boys continue to tour extensively, performing more than 160 shows each year.
