Nominees Announced for 2010 CMT Music Awards

Initial nominees for the 2010 CMT Music Awards were announced earlier today, April 5, marking the beginning of fan voting for the awards. Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum and Sugarland lead the pack with four nods each. Following them are Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and Zac Brown Band with three nominations each.

The first round of voting runs through Monday, May 3, where fans will select the top nominees in each category. The four finalists in each category except Video of the Year will be announced Tuesday, May 11. Fans can then vote at CMT.com through June 8 to determine the winners. The 2010 CMT Music Awards will be broadcast live on Wednesday, June 9, on CMT and CMT.com.
Final nominees for the Video of the Year category will be announced at the beginning on the live awards show, and fans can vote online at CMT.com and via text message throughout the broadcast (ET/CT only) to determine the night's big winner.
