5/29/2008 Sandy Paul Joe Nichols helps Knoxville high school Country Music star Joe Nichols went the extra mile last week for a high school in Knoxville, Tenn. Nichols teamed up with WIVK radio/Knoxville to make a special performance at the school in to raise enough money to remodel the school’s auditorium. His performance raised more than $6,000 for the upgrade. “There’s nothing like getting in there and performing for a bunch of teenagers,” the Country Music artist said. “I haven’t had that much fun since I was in high school!” They really know how to have a good time.” The high school, as well as the city, gave Nichols a warm welcome. Billboards thanked him for his efforts and the city itself deemed it “Joe Nichols Day.” He also made a special performance on WBIR-TV, Knoxville’s “Live at Five” newscast. Following his appearances at next week’s annual CMA Music Festival in Nashville, Nichols will start his summer tour in support of his current CD, Real Things.
