4/11/2008 Lisa Ann Schleipfer Steve Wariner Inducted The Music City Walk of Fame keeps winding up the Music Mile. On Sunday, April 20, at 3:00 p.m. the fourth class of inductees will be honored in a ceremony at the Hall of Fame in downtown Nashville. The GAC-sponsored ceremony is free and open to the public. This group of honorees consists of Steven Curtis Chapman, the late Merle Kilgore, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Steve Wariner, Kirk Whalum and the late Hank Williams Sr. The Music City Walk of Fame, found on Nashville’s Music Mile, was created in 2006 to honor those who have made their mark in the music industry and contributed to Nashville’s musical legacy. April’s class of inductees brings the star total on the Walk of Fame to 24. Each star medallion is made of stainless steel and terrazzo tile, with a script of the individual celebrity in a "star-and-guitar" design. The permanent stars are then installed along the sidewalk of Music Mile.  The stars for the latest inductees will be placed on Demonbreun, between 4th and 5th Avenues South. Nominations, open to the public are accepted in the categories of Artist, Musician, Songwriter, and Producer/Music Industry Executive. Applicants are reviewed by the Music City Walk of Fame anonymous selection committee. The Music City Walk of Fame the project of Music City, Inc., the charitable foundation of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau.
