Lady Antebellum’s newest single, “Need You Now,” is the lead track off their upcoming sophomore album from Capitol Nashville. The single goes for official radio adds on Aug. 24.

Group members Dave Haywood, Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott wrote the song with Josh Kear. It’s an urgent plea for the companionship that estranged lovers still wish for in the lonely hours after midnight.

"A lot of the songs that we've written for the album so far, and this one in particular, are about what we are learning as we go through the ups and downs of different relationships," explained Scott. "All three of us know what it's like to get to that point where you feel lonely enough that you make a late night phone call that you very well could regret the next day. But you do it anyway because it's the only thing that's going to give you any relief in that moment."

Lady Antebellum just celebrated their first No. 1 hit with “I Run to You” and are returning to the studio to finish up their yet-to-be-titled album.

"We are pouring our hearts into writing this new album," added Haywood. "The songs are more personal, the production is bigger, and I think we are in a stronger place vocally than we've ever been...just from all the touring we've done this year. We're really anxious to get home and get it finished."
