The Grand Ole Opry is coming to downtown Nashville's famed Broadway area in the form of a new store, Opry Originals: The Shop On Broadway. The store is set to open Thursday, April 16, but a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Monday, April 20. A week of events surrounding the store opening will follow the ribbon-cutting.

The store will include many different Opry products including jeans, tops and boots; an Opry Kitchen line; dinnerware; home furnishings and local arts merchandise. There will also be frequent appearances from Opry stars in the form of book and record signings, along with listening stations and photo opportunities. The Opry by Manuel collection will be featured in the store as well. It includes jackets, shirts and jeans designed by Manuel for Opry stars over the past forty years.

The actual Opry Store building is a free-standing, 5,000 square-foot contemporary structure that brings together Opry roots with the new traditions. It is akin to a market type setting and "will encourage hands-on interaction and invite guests to discover and take home their own piece of the Opry lifestyle," according to a statement from the Opry.
