Anne Murray’s autobiography, All of Me, will be released Oct. 28.

Murray’s success began in 1970 with her first album, Snowbird, and a string of top singles, including “Danny’s Song,” “You Needed Me” and “Could I Have this Dance.”

"I was swept up like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, and catapulted into a strange new universe," writes Anne. "I was lonely and tired. My privacy was constantly being invaded. I was in love with a married man whom I seldom saw. I was touring with a group of musicians who at any moment were at risk of being arrested. What I wanted most was to stop and go home, but it wasn't possible. I had commitments and obligations as far as the eye could see."

The Canadian icon shares her stories and reflections about her 40-year career. The story starts in hometown of Springhill, Nova Scotia and through the four decades of her career, including the sale of 54 million records, 30 pop hits, 50 Country tunes and 40 contemporary songs on the Billboard charts.

The memoir, written with journalist/author Michael Posner, will be available in stores in October from Knopf Canada.
