Country musician Neal McCoy is taking applications for the first ever East Texas Angel Network Singing Star Contest. Five contestants will be chosen to perform one song each at the 15th Annual East Texas Angel Network Benefit concert to fight for a once in a lifetime opportunity to take the stage with Neal McCoy at a concert date to be determined.
Neal McCoy and his wife Melinda established the East Texas Angel Network in the spring of 1995 with the purpose of making funds readily available to families who were experiencing financial difficulties due to the expenses incurred as a result of a child’s illness. Through fundraising activities, the organization has raised over five million dollars for medical treatments and related costs for children of East Texas with terminal or life-threatening diseases.
Applications are available by calling (903) 297-9000 or by going to www.easttexasangelnetwork.com and downloading the application.
The 15th Annual East Texas Angel Network Benefit weekend is scheduled for Sept. 25 & 26. The Singing Star Contest will take place on Sept. 26.  Applications, along with video must be submitted no later than July 15. Auditions will be by DVD or video tape only. No cassettes or CDs will be accepted.
