9/20/2007 Stephen L. Betts The first episode of the Fox reality show Nashville proved a ratings disappointment, coming in last among total viewers in its 9 p.m. (ET) time slot. An average of 2.72 million total viewers tuned in to the premiere, which followed a new episode of the hit show, Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader? About half of those watching Nashville changed the channel halfway through the show (proving to the show's many critics, perhaps, that at least half of Fox’s audience IS smarter than a 5th grader). Fewer people watched Nashville than Anchorwoman, another reality show which debuted last month on Fox and was canceled after just one episode.
