NASCAR and Country fans in Charlotte, N.C., are invited to a free concert featuring Love And Theft in honor of the NASCAR Hall of Fame’s grand opening on May 11.
Winston Kelly, executive direct of the NASCAR Hall of Fame, said in a news release that it is a “monumental day in NASCAR and Charlotte history, and it is our privilege to have such a talented trio join us.”
“I had the pleasure of seeing Love And Theft perform live at Sprint Sound and Speed in Nashville this year. I was not previously familiar with them, and I was absolutely blown away. They were fabulous. Our guests are in for a treat,” he added.
One member of Love And Theft is especially excited. Eric Gunderson grew up and went to college at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The other band members include Stephen Baker Liles and Brian Bandas. The trio has had two hits, including “Runaway” and “Dancing In Circles” off their World Wide Open debut album.
In addition to Love And Theft’s concert, the NASCAR Hall of Fame will host a full day of activities starting at 9 a.m. There will be NASCAR celebrities, elected officials and other dignitaries officially opening the venue at the one-hour ceremony. Afterwards, there will be free outdoor activities until the concert begins, including celebrity question-and-answer sessions, entertainment, food vendors and more.
“The free concert and all of the free outdoor activities are just small ways we can say thank you to the race fans, Charlotte residents, tourists, NASCAR community, local businesses, elected officials and everyone who has supported this project,” Kelly said in a news release.
Tickets to enter the new Hall of Fame are on sale now at www.NASCARHall.com. Tickets are $19.95 for adults, $17.95 for seniors and military, $12.95 for children between 5-12 and free for children under 5.
