9/12/2007 In addition to upcoming holiday offerings we’ve previously reported from Toby Keith, Tracy Lawrence and Diamond Rio, and the Hear Something Country Christmas compilation - with new music from Carrie Underwood, Sara Evans and Martina McBride, among others - there’ll be a few more musical treats under the Christmas tree this year. l Mindy Smith will release My Holiday on Oct. 9. Featuring six original songs written or co-written by the singer, the album also includes her versions of traditional holiday tunes such as “Silver Bells” and “The Christmas Song.” Alison Krauss joins Mindy for a version of “Away in a Manger.” l Rounder Records’ Home for Christmas: Voices from the Heartland will be in stores Oct. 16. The eclectic collection features classic Christmas tunes from Riders in the Sky, Sam Moore (of Sam & Dave), Rhonda Vincent, Irma Thomas and more. A mixture of sacred and traditional favorites, two new tracks from the album, “Labor of Love” and “Nothin’s Gonna Bring Me Down at Christmas Time,” will be released to Contemporary Christian and country radio stations, respectively, in mid-October.
