The boys of Montgomery Gentry have settled down. Troy Gentry and Eddie Montgomery, though known for rowdy music and wild living, have admitted that the time has come to take life a little easier and enjoy the simpler things.

“I’m not quite the partier I used to be,” Gentry said. “I’ve swapped the vodka and the wine out for vitamins and supplements these days.”

After spending the summer on the Country Throwdown Tour, Gentry said his idea of a good time was playing late-night jam sessions and catching performances from fellow tour members Heidi Newfield, James Otto and Jamey Johnson.

“Got a bunch of the coloring and pictures from my little girl,” Gentry said. “All of her little art work she does when she’s out on the bus, hung up on the refrigerators and on the windows and everything. It’s more like home than it is the local neighborhood bar and pub.”

"We don’t run quite as hard as we used to,” Montgomery added. “It takes too many days to get over it.”

Gentry concured. “In the words of Hank Williams Jr., 'The hangovers hurt more than they used to.'"

The recipients of the 2010 Academy of Country Music/Hope Depot Humanitarian Award, Montgomery Gentry is preparing for a busy fall full of tour stops and the construction of a playground in their home state, Kentucky, in recognition of their ongoing charitable contributions.

The duo's new release, Gravel Road, will be in stores in September. For tour dates check out http://montgomerygentry.musiccitynetworks.com/.
