Miranda Lambert

Even though Miranda Lambert is new on the Country Music scene, she has made a tremendous impact on thousands of fans and those in the industry. With her breakout album Kerosene that debuted at #1 on the country charts, Lambert has only gone up with her sophomore album Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. With singles like “Me & Charlie Talking,” “Kerosene” and the latest “Gunpowder And Lead,” she’s set out to make a great impression on all of Country Music.  Miranda has now released her third album, Revolution, to great reviews.

Miranda Lambert

Texas Girl Becomes A Nashville Star

Born November 10, 1983, Miranda Leigh Lambert was raised in Lindale, Texas by her parents Rick & Beverly Lambert. At age ten she went to her first Garth Brooks concert and was hooked on Country Music after that. She attended Fan Fair every year and began singing with her father in talent contests. When she was sixteen, Lambert began appearing on the Johnny High Country Music Review that also launched LeAnn Rimes career.

Lambert graduated early from high school so she could devote more time to her music career. She formed her Texas Pride band and began singing in different places around Texas, becoming the house band at a tea room in Dallas and the Reo Palm Isle Ballroom in Long View, Texas. In 2003, she auditioned for Nashville Star, a talent competition. She ended up finishing third on the show, which she later viewed as more of a blessing than anything else.

Kerosene Lights Up The Country Charts

After Lambert finished with Nashville Star, she was signed to a deal with Columbia Nashville. “Me and Charlie Talking” became her debut single in 2004. Lambert co-wrote eleven of the twelve songs on her first album, impressive for an artist’s debut. The album produced three other singles: “Bring Me Down,” “Kerosene” and “New Strings.” Lambert also had the opportunity to tour with Country superstars Keith Urban, George Strait and Toby Keith.

Being A Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Pays Off

After being nominated for the CMA Horizon Award in 2005, two CMT awards in 2006, and Best Country Female Vocal Performance at the Grammys in 2007, winning Top New Female Vocalist at the ACM awards in 2007 wasn’t a huge surprise. The release of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend in 2007 marked another new beginning for Lambert. The album contained eight tracks written by her including “Famous In A Small Town,” one of Lambert’s singles.

Lambert was nominated in 2008 for a Grammy for “Famous In A Small Town” but did not win the award. She did win the 2008 ACM award for Album of the Year with Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Her current single, “Gunpowder & Lead” is her highest charting single to date, peaking at #11 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Hopefully for Blake Shelton, Miranda’s boyfriend and also a popular Country star, Lambert never ends up as his Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. The two have been together since 2007 and are both very involved in each others careers. Lambert’s career is on the right track for success in the Country Music world.
