Fresh off People magazine's 100 Most Beautiful People, Miranda Lambert is shocking fans and critics with her latest release, "Dead Flowers." Her performance of the song at the ACM Awards has left many with their jaws open.
“There's a sense that the song is always on the verge of exploding -- and Lambert is one of the fiercest singers in any genre, “ Los Angeles Times mentioned.
The song hit radio stations yesterday and will be available for retail May 12. However, her album will not be released until September.
The song was inspired by Lambert's real life experience after receiving flowers for Valentine's Day, but soon had to hit the road for tour. Upon her return, the flowers were dead and she tossed them out, which led to her writing the song.
Lambert has also drawn attention at the Stagecoach Festival after telling Kid Rock that she would shoot him if he kept messing with the lyrics of his song, "Picture." The two were singing a duet of the single at the time.
Lambert is currently a special guest on Kenny Chesney's Sun City Carnival Tour.
