Mindy McCready has experienced many ups and downs in life. She started her career in Country Music about a decade ago with singles “Ten Thousand Angels” and her wildly successful “Guys Do It All the Time”. But since these successes, McCready has been completely under the radar.
She has experienced scandals and personal issues that have put her music career on hold. McCready became involved in an abusive relationship and meddled in various drugs. She was arrested on drug possession charges, and her struggle with drug addiction recently landed her on the hit TV series Celebrity Rehab, which airs on Vh1.
As a way of facing her demons, McCready turned back to music as a kind of therapy, announcing plans to begin recording in May of 2008.
“We have always been confident in Mindy’s talent,” Michael Fancher, Iconic Records label head, stated. “This album shows she’s at the top of her game musically; she’s the best she’s ever sounded, and we look forward to reintroducing her music to fans new and old.”
As McCready returns to the spotlight with her new album, I’m Still Here, due in stores March 23, she hopes to show fans she still has a spunky, feminine side and that she is, in fact, still here.
Fans can listen to a streaming sample of the album on McCready's Web site.
