Mindy McCready Hospitalized for Possible Drug Overdose

Troubled Country singer Mindy McCready has been hospitalized in Fort Myers, Fla. While the hospital has released no details, CMT.com reported McCready's mother told The News-Press in Fort Myers that she had given her daughter two Darvocet pills to help pain from a broken toe McCready suffered over the weekend. Gayle Inge, McCready’s mother, said the 34-year-old singer “….was completely out of it, in and out.” She was afraid McCready had taken more pills. 

 

According to E! Online, a hospital spokeswoman has said that McCready is curently in good condition.

 

Mindy McCready had hits with “Ten Thousand Angels” and “Guys Do It All the Time” but has since been through a series of legal and drug abuse problems. She was in court last week attempting to gain custody of her 4-year-old son, Zander.

 

McCready's latest album, I’m Still Here, was released in March.
