It is a difficult time for Country Musician Mindy McCready. The New York Daily News reported yesterday that McCready suffered a nervous breakdown. She checked into a Tennessee hospital on July 16, and has left Vanderbilt University Medical Center for further treatment.

Reports say the singer entered the Tennessee hospital after overdosing on a combination of vodka and Ambien, and has she has since traveled to Arizona to check into a rehab facility. A source told The New York Daily News, "She's at the end of her rope." A week ago it was even rumored McCready was planning an appearance on Dr. Phil.

McCready has found herself in the middle of controversy, as federal investigators have questioned her in regards to the perjury charges against Roger Clemens, with whom she had a 15-year relationship.

This is not McCready's first brush with substance abuse. In 2004 a drug conviction stripped away her custody of her son, Zander, whose father is fellow Country Music singer Billy McKnight.

"To her credit she has entered into an extended-care facility where she will receive the care needed," the singer's publicist told E! Online yesterday. "And for the moment we ask that everyone respect her privacy."

McCready, best known for her hit song, "Guys Do It All the Time," was preparing a comeback with the release of her new album, due out this year, her website offering a free download of the album's first single, "I'm Still Here."  She was also working on a reality show to be titled, "Mending Mindy."
