Legend Mac McAnally was named CMA’s Musician of the Year last week at the 43rd Annual CMA Awards.

This is the second year in a row for him to receive this award, which highlights his artistry as a guitar player.

"Playin' music is my favorite thing in the world," said McAnally. "And to be honored for that makes me one of the luckiest, happiest people alive."

Now that CMA week has wrapped up, McAnally will head back to filling concert venues and performing for fans, both with his own solo dates and as a member of Jimmy Buffet’s Coral Reefer Band.

McAnally was named to the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame in 2007 and the Mississippi Music Hall of Fame in 2008. He has written six No. 1 singles in his career, including “Down The Road,” which topped the charts this spring.
