18-year Air Force veteran Master Sergeant Bubba Beason has won the "Chevy Salutes America's Heroes" contest, earning him a new 2010 Chevy Equinox, an appearance on ABC's Good Morning America on Nov. 10, and he and his family will be in attendance for the CMA Awards in Nashville on Veteran's Day.
Chevrolet hosted the contest, asking for friends and family of soldiers to nominate someone who best expresses the miltary spirit.  After five stories were chosen by Chevrolet, the public voted for the winner.
Beason's eight-year-old son, Christopher, wrote the letter about his dad, who is about to begin his seventh deployment to the Middle East. He wrote, "My dad goes because he cares about us. He wants to protect us and makes sure we have a safe place to live...I love my Dad and I hope you will agree with us that he is our hero."
