Marty Stuart Honored By Hometown

Philadelphia, Miss., will celebrate Marty Stuart Day on Thursday. Stuart is from Philadelphia, Miss., and they will be dedicating Marty Stuart Drive Thursday as well.
Also, the Philadelphia-Neshoba County Historical Museum opens an exhibit in his honor on the same day.
Stuart and his wife, fellow Grand Ole Opry member Connie Smith, celebrate their 12th wedding anniversary on Wednesday. Stuart first saw Connie sing when he was 11-years-old at the Choctaw Indian Fair nearby. He told his mom then he was going to marry her someday.
"If I step outside of the story and look at it, it looks pretty blessed to me," Stuart told The South Bend Tribune, reflecting on his life and career. "A lot of the things I had my sights on when I was just a kid, it happened. It has never been easy, and it has never been free. There has always been a lot of work involved, but that is fine with me. It has been a pretty astounding ride, so far."
