9/6/2007 Martina McBride, who's performing during New York's Fashion Week, visited New York designer Zac Posen to choose an outfit for her performance at Fashion Rocks on Thursday (9/6). While in the Big Apple, Martina answered a few questions for Reuters news service, revealing details of her greatest fashion disaster, what she likes about touring, and how she and husband John spend their time off. Q: How would you describe your fashion sense? A: I tend to go for clothes that are classic. I like simple, strong, clean lines and I really love it when I find a piece that I can wear forever. I don't really wear trends just for the sake of being trendy. Q: What is your favorite fashion accessory? A: My favorite accessory is jewelry. I love the way it can really make or break an outfit. And shoes of course! Q: What has been your greatest fashion mistake? A: "The 80's! I wore a headband for my senior picture. Enough said." Q: What are you working on at the moment? A: I am getting ready to film a live concert television special at the end of the month. We had such a great time on tour this year and I really wanted to capture it on film. I'm also starting to look for songs for the next album. Q: What do you like so much about touring? A: Performing for the audience is the best part. It's the kind of immediate gratification that you just can't get in the studio. I love leaving the show feeling like the audience and I have shared an experience and a moment in time. Q: What do you do to relax? A: I love to read. I could spend hours in the bookstore! My husband and I don't really have time to watch TV so we are never up on the latest series. We wait until they come out on DVD and then we pour a glass of wine and watch several episodes in a row. Right now we are working our way through season 3 of House.
